Enlist their help in assembling the food, packing it, and putting together a picnic basket. Go to your location of choice, and enjoy!

In addition to activities, there are some other ways you can make your staycation as stress-free as possible. Here are a few we recommend.
- Keep a routine – Even though you’re having a great time and doing new things, you should still try to keep circadian rhythms in check. Keep the same bedtimes, meal times, nap times, etc., as much as possible. You don’t want your fun this week to turn into a huge adjustment next week when their schedules are off.
- Eat healthy meals – Yes, you’re on vacation, and probably will head to places that you wouldn’t normally go to eat. However, keeping their nutrition as healthy as possible will keep their energy levels high and avoid developing bad habits that will be hard to break afterward.
- Don’t push too hard – Even if you’ve spent a lot of time planning the activities for the week, your kids might become tired. You can still encourage them to participate, but when they’re tired and cranky, let their energy levels guide you when to stop.
